Loseley Chapel at St Nicolas Church, Guildford – photos now available

We are delighted with the pictures of our recently completed project at St Nicolas Church in Guildford, which are now live on our website

Nye Saunders have been the inspecting architect at St Nicolas Church, Guildford for many years. During that time, we have worked on the restoration of the Grade 2* Listed Loseley Chapel which was a single room and attached crypt as remains of a former medieval church on the site. The Chapel houses significant memorials dating back to the 17th Century to the More-Molyneux family of nearby Loseley House and many of the family are buried in the crypt.

As a Phase 2 to the first phase of restoring the Loseley Chapel, the Parish wished to update the Community Centre which is attached to the church and chapel and provide a large, modern and welcoming new entrance space to replace the 1970’s built cold and leaking single glazed lobby. Scheme drawings were developed by Nye Saunders and after some detailed negotiations with the conservation officer and Historic England over an acceptable relationship of the new building to the Loseley Chapel, the final design was granted planning consent in June 2017. Pryer Construction commenced works in May 2018 and the project was handed over in December 2018.
